Hanoi, July – Golden Gate, a multinational conglomerate headquartered in the Netherlands, held a significant meeting with Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to foster cooperation in sustainable agriculture and carbon emission reduction.

About Golden Gate
During the meeting, William, a representative of Golden Gate, provided an overview of the corporation. Golden Gate is renowned for its strong activities in sustainable agriculture and aquaculture. The corporation offers measurement solutions and monitoring tools to enhance sustainability and reduce carbon emissions, serving retailers and supermarket chains globally, especially in Europe. Golden Gate stands out for its extensive partnerships with European businesses, adhering to stringent standards such as ESG, CSDR, CSDDDT, CBAM, and EUDR. The corporation also manages the supply chain from farm to consumer, helping to reduce costs and increase productivity for farmers.
Emission Reduction
William shared Golden Gate’s experience in reducing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Although reducing Scope 3 emissions is a significant challenge, the corporation has achieved positive results in projects in Malaysia and Africa. As it enters the Vietnamese market, Golden Gate has partnered with organizations such as Da Nang University, Can Tho University, Tra Vinh University, and Vietnamese businesses. William expressed a desire to participate in the “One Million Hectares of Rice in the Mekong Delta” project to measure carbon credits, assist farmers in improving cultivation techniques, and strengthen Vietnam’s position in the circular economy.
Feedback from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development
1.The Director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development expressed support and confidence in Golden Gate and Rexil’s ability to apply carbon credit measurement technology. The Director posed two important questions:
2.The ability to participate in voluntary and mandatory markets, along with various requirements and certifications.
3.The corporation’s relationship with EUROCHARM – the European Business Association.

Mr. William responded that if they can work in the voluntary market and receive support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and partners, they could eventually move into the mandatory market. He confirmed the group’s close relationship with EUROCHARM.
Conclusion
The Director General outlined three steps for Golden Gate to proceed with participating in the “One Million Hectares of Rice in the Mekong Delta”
project. The corporation must complete the Ministry’s registration form, provide detailed information about the corporation, services, implementation methods, and the potential of the technologies offered.
